Tŝideldel First Nation
We are the Nenqayni Deni, which means "First Nations People," and we are a proud part of the Tŝilhqot'in Nation. Nenqayni Deni stands as a proud testament to our enduring heritage, and vibrant community spirit, and encapsulates our deep-rooted pride of our ancestors. Situated in the vast and rugged landscape of Alexis Creek, 188 km west of Williams Lake along Highway 20, our First Nation reserve encompasses 4,362.50 hectares of sacred land and the unceeded area of the Tŝideldel Nen covers close to a million acres in the Chilcotin region.
Drawing inspiration from the land itself, our name Tŝideldel, means "red stone," deriving its name from a distinctive outcrop of red rock that stands at the east end of our community. We honor both "Tŝi-deldel" and "Tŝideldel" spellings, embracing the nuances that define our identity.
Our dynamic First Nation is home to a population of 702 individuals, each carrying the Tsilhqot'in pride and culture, ancestral treasures that binds us to the wisdom of our Elders and past generation.
